Portrait Subjects

Nestled within the tapestry of Brandeis University lies a collective memory—a repository of experiences, connections, and narratives that define its essence. I was moved by the outpouring of participation and the stories shared by those who submitted their photos. Each image served as a portal to a cherished memory, offering a glimpse into the myriad of experiences that shape the Brandeis journey.

From the bustling newsroom of "The Justice" to the tranquil beauty of Chapel's Field in the Fall, these photographs were more than mere snapshots—they were windows into the soul of Brandeis. With each submission came a flood of memories, each one a testament to the impact that this institution has had on its students, alumni, and community.

Among the memories shared were tales of community engagement, artistic expression, and serendipitous encounters that have left a mark on the hearts of Brandeisians past and present. From volunteering in admissions to performing in campus productions, each narrative added another layer to the multifaceted identity of Brandeis.

As I crafted each portrait, my aim was to not only capture the essence of the individual but also the spirit of their respective time period. Each portrait was imbued with intentionality, seeking to evoke the emotions, memories, and experiences that define the Brandeis journey.

Let us cherish these memories—these snapshots of life at Brandeis—as a testament to the enduring legacy of this esteemed institution. For in each face, each story, we find echoes of our own experiences, woven into the fabric of Brandeis' history.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their photos and shared their memories. Your participation has made this art installation not just a celebration of Brandeis, but a celebration of the community that makes it truly special.
